This portrait project spanned five years, from 2014 to 2018. Each year I would make a series of environmental portraits of some of the participants at the Hilton Arts Festival and exhibit the photographs at the festival the following year.
These were made possible with the gracious cooperation of the people I photographed and the stage managers who allowed me into the pressured hustle and bustle of their world.
Most of the sessions lasted only a few minutes, the shortest was one minute and 8 seconds – just four frames.
