This body of work explores the dual notions of home and decoration.

Home most often refers to a single place where a person lives, it can also be a geographical area – a suburb, town, city or country – in which people feel they belong. Home can also refer to something other than a physical location; it may be an emotional state of refuge or comfort.

The dictionary tells us that to decorate is to furnish, provide, or adorn with something ornamental – to increase the beauty.

Since the earliest time humans have felt the urge to decorate their surroundings. Some of this decoration is purely aesthetic and ornamental, while the purpose of other decoration is to establish an identity – one that will set it apart from the rest.

Home for the individual or the collective is important and decoration can be used to set apart or to unify.
